What is Bright Beginnings?
For over 30 years, Bright Beginnings has been a hallmark initiative of the YMCA, serving more than 60,000 children across the Richmond region. In partnership with local school districts, the program equips students with the tools they need for academic success and personal growth.
Seven regional events around the RVA will serve over 2,800 students in 2026, equipping them with essential school supplies. Backpacks, books, clothing, hygiene kits and new shoes will be provided. Over 500 volunteers
